Is WiFi Available at the retreat?

We have Wi-Fi in the farmhouse and guest suites, but being rural, this may be patchy from time to time.

 

Can I bring my dog?

We cannot guarantee that other participants are not allergic to dogs so we do not allow dogs at our retreats.

 

Are assistance dogs and registered dogs allowed in the retreat?

Only registered guide dogs are allowed in each of our retreats. 

 

Can we arrive early or leave late?

Check in is from 2pm on the first day of the retreat. Check out is by 4.30 pm on the last day of the retreat. You can book to stay an extra night on a room only basis.

 

Do you allow hen parties at your retreats?

If you wish to book a group of hens, please contact us so we can provide you with another date for your celebration weekend.

 

Where is the nearest airport and train station?

The nearest airports are Cardiff, Bristol both 90 mins drive. The nearest train station is Hereford, with a connecting bus T14 from Hereford bus station to Hay on Wye. We are the Middlewood bus stop which is a 1 minute walk to Westbrook Court.

 

Do I have to pay extra for gas, electric and water?

Our retreat rates are all inclusive of utilities.

 

Are bed linen and towels provided?

All bed linen and bath towels are provided. Just bring a beach towel for a hot tub dip!


Does my retreat have a cooker / fridge / freezer?

The retreat is fully catered from the farmhouse but you can store your own snacks in the farmhouse fridge. 

 

Is the retreat suitable for people with restricted mobility?

Our retreat is an active weekend of activities and we will endeavour to accommodate participants with any mobility issues. Contact us with any questions.

 

Do I have to clean the retreat before I leave?

Our retreat accommodation will be serviced upon departure so you do not need to clean before you check out.

 

Is smoking or vaping allowed at the retreat?

We do not allow smoking or vaping anywhere inside the farmhouse or guest suites or our undercover barns. 

 

How do I pay?

We take payment via bank transfer or via our booking system at www.westbrookcourtco.uk. All major cards accepted.

 

What is the deposit?

Depending on when you book, we take 30% upfront as your deposit, then a further 35% by 11th June and the final 35% one month before, so by 11th September.

 

What if I need to cancel?

Our workshop providers and caterers and our host all have reserved this weekend exclusively for your retreat. We advise you to take out travel insurance to protect your deposits as we are unable to offer refunds or transfers in the event of any illness or your travel disruptions that affect your arrival.

What sort of food do you serve?

Our retreats are fully catered with supper and pudding on the Friday and Saturday evening, perhaps a sharing stew with a side and a pudding. A continental buffet breakfast is offered on Saturday and Sunday morning and there is a packed or sit down lunch provided on Saturday and Sunday. Plus tea and cake in the afternoons! Feel free to bring your own additional snacks.

We cater for all dietary needs and allergies, please provide information about your preferences/allergies prior to arrival.

Our meals are served in our dining hall around a communal table for maximum opportunity to chat to your fellow guests. 

 

Are your retreats alcohol free?

No! We offer complimentary tea/coffee and some soft drinks however we don’t supply alcohol. You are however welcome to BYO wine or beer or spirits which we can keep chilled for you in the communal fridge.

 

Can I bring a friend?

We are happy for you to bring a friend or two or three! Just book your room together by emailing stay@westbrookcourt.co.uk 

 

What else is there to do on my arrival or departure day? 

Hay on Wye is a 5 minute drive from Westbrook Court Country House, and offers boutiques, bookshops, cafes, art galleries and the recently restored Hay Castle which boasts a café, gallery and museum. We love Hay on Wye and would suggest spending a half day at least on your arrival and/or departure day depending on when that is.
